The Blog With No Name

I got a new headset today, for a phone that hasn’t yet arrived (the USPS web site has been claiming, for four days, that it has received the shipping info, without actually claiming to have received the package itself. I find that suspicious). It is a really geeky, dorky-looking, old-school (it has a wire!) headset. It works really well. I plugged it, for the time being, into my cell phone, and away I went. Standing at the stove, stirring spaghetti sauce, and chatting away (Hi Melissa!). My neighbor came by to drop something off, and I do believe that I giggled as I showed it to her (she wants one too). I am ridiculously easy to amuse, which I must say is a good way to go through life.

brodd.net now has a new host, dreamhost.com. My brother found them, and their main claim to fame in our eyes is that they allow unlimited mySQL databases, so that we can have unlimited blogs, calendars, photo galleries, gtd-php installations, etc. I finally got around to setting up my email to appear to come from me@brodd.net. Plus, I have a shell account! I can log on to the server that hosts our site and play with linux commands. OH THE ENDLESS HOURS OF FUN IN STORE FOR ME!

(Did I mention, they have WordPress 2.0, which is oodles more fun than MoveableType. I was able to import all my MT posts, for example – very very easily.)

I just haven’t felt like being very online these days. Too busy doing laundry. Both kids have had stomach problems this week, I hesitate to call it the flu as there was no fever etc. Just vomit. Lots of vomit. Both times, at 11:45 p.m. From their elevated beds. I will never look at the slide on my son’s bed in the same way again. Charles spent Saturday afternoon steam cleaning both kids’ carpets.

I will say no more. I’m going downstairs to do some more laundry.
