Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy

I know this puts me in the black-helicopters-from-the-UN brigade, but I’m really coming to believe that Dick Cheney orchestrated this whole Iraq thing so that Halliburton could profit from it. So how crazy am I?

School Choirs

I went to a choir concert on Sunday. This was given by a regional, professional, choir, made up of highly-trained people who are for the most part school music directors, or church organists or choir directors, etc. Stupendous group. One of their continuing programs has them working with a high school choir for a few sessions, working on two or three pieces, which the high-school choir performs during one of the professional group’s regular concerts. [Yes, there's a point - I'm getting there.] So anyway. Stupendous professional choir, and [usually] really impressive school choirs. I noticed, at this last concert, that all three pieces performed by the school choir (and therefore, presumably, rehearsed extensively at school, a public school) were of a religious nature. Antique Computers

I have discovered a market for ridding oneself of antique computer peripherals that beats e-bay: the local ISP’s auction site. I’m unloading an old Zip drive tonight on a lucky buyer. Better yet, we’re making the swap at Whitey’s so I get to reinvest the proceeds in ICE CREAM!!! (in the dead of winter, yes, I know, but it’s WHITEY’S!) Note to Phil: this is your Zip drive I’m talking about here, so shall I send you a check? Or would you rather have some ice cream (Whitey’s does ship, you know) ?

Getting Rid of Books!

I got rid of some books today! It was exciting! Took them to church. Now they can sit in a room in someone else’s basement for a while. I badgered the secretary into taking a series that she was interested in. bwa ha ha.

I have also discovered that there is a market on e-bay (shocking, I know) for complete sets of Star Trek: The Original Series (ST:TOS). So I’m going to photograph *our* set prettily and see whether I can unload it onto some poor fool as well…
