BLUEBERRIES

We picked over six pounds of blueberries over the weekend. Generally, I am not fond of blueberries; LUCKILY, I have the New York City Cookbook (thanks Melissa!), which contains a prize-winning blueberry muffin recipe. I have made them before. They are delish. I believe I will attempt to make some tomorrow morning. Or maybe I should wait until Saturday. Hm.

It WAS Funny, Really…

If I keep telling myself that, I might believe it, someday.

Anyway. I didn’t have the best start to my day (it’s gotten better, thanks). Got up, showered, went downstairs, started some coffee, started doing a few dishes. After a minute or so, I was washing the coffee carafe. Slooooooowwwly, a thought occurred: If I’m washing the coffee carafe, what’s with the coffee that’s brewing right now? (mind you, about 12 inches away from my arms, well within normal peripheral vision) I looked over and sure enough, there was coffee all over the kitchen counter. Duh. I hastily rinsed the carafe and shoved it into place, managing to salvage about a cup, so all was not lost. It was really strange, actually feeling a thought happening.

How Dumb Is This?

I bought a 64MB SmartMedia card recently on ebay, to use in my digital camera. My *old* digital camera. My digital camera that accepts nothing larger than 16MB SmartMedia cards. D’OH!!!

So, you know anyone who’s looking for a 64MB SM card? I’ve got one, cheap…

It IS TOO the heat!

The humidity sucks too though. Spent the day vacuuming, in preparation for delivery of a new mattress/box spring on Monday. I’m sure that there is at least a regiment of dust bunnies remaining under the bed, dug in, armed to the teeth and ready to spring on the invaders, just like those Nazi Wolf Packs or whatever.

“The Peshawar Lancers,” by S.M. Stirling is calling out to me from the library pile for a re-read. A Ripping Yarn™ ; Kim mixed together with fun alternate history. That’s an unbeatable combination as far as I’m concerned…

How about the 4th of October?

Couldn’t we move Independence Day? I mean really. It’s 93 degrees outside. It’s inhumane. Just imagine how wonderful the fireworks display would be for you if you were sitting on a blanket, wearing a comfortable sweater, holding a mug of coffee/cocoa/cider, instead of sweating to death, slapping mosquitoes, and having to carry gallons of water for each person? Oh the misery.
